2015 Wrap Up

We cannot believe that the 2015 Lakamaga Conference was almost three months ago!   It was just yesterday we donned the bright green committee t-shirts and put up the tents and information table out in the dewy lawn of camp, right? In fact, we bet some of us still haven’t fully unpacked our tote bags from the weekend…

A beautiful day out at camp. Love how the sun hits the bird feeders by Agnes Ober Program Center.

This was a big year for the Lakamaga Conference. 2015 was 100% volunteer run. 2015 introduced new technology with a brand new website, new registration process, new check-in procedures. A bit of a summary for you on the amazingness of the conference:

  • 130 registered attendees
  • 38 unique workshops offered
  • 7 troop boutiques
  • 12 committee members + 1 GSRV Staff liasion
  • $350+ raised through the Silent Auction for Camp

We had such a blast hosting, teaching, learning, networking, and just hanging out at camp.  It appears you did too.  Here’s a few notes from our outstanding Adult Volunteer participants.

“Love the hands on learning.  So much more you get from this that the Internet can’t/won’t teach you.”

“There is so much knowledge @ this conference!”

“So many ideas to teach our Girl Scouts + brilliant ideas for activities at Service Unit events”

“Great way to be with old friends out at camp”

“The experienced leaders are impressive resources”

“Wonderful opportunity to meet new Girl Scout friends”

We have gone through all the evaluations and email comments, already making adjustments based on feedback for 2016.

Enjoy a few more photos of the adventures below.  You can see how gorgeous the weather was (though hot!) and how much fun we all had.

The Committee is now hard at work planning for 2016.  We’ve finalized the date, reserved the camp, and are beginning to pull resources together.  As always, check back here or on the Facebook Group for the most up to date information on the next Lakamaga Adult Education Conference!
